Stephen Monnier Obituary Stephen 'Steve Monnier, 74, of Tucson, Arizona passed away peacefully on December 3rd, 2024 at Northwest Hospital in Tucson Arizona surrounded by his loving children.
Steve was born on November 28th, 1950 to mother Bonnye Gayle Steimer Monnier and father John Edward Monnier in Carthage, Illinois. Steve began his life on a family farm in Basco, Illinois. He joined the family with two older brothers (Dan Monnier and John Monnier) and was soon joined by three younger sisters (Mary Reed, Lou Ann Metternich, and Nancy Halpin) and three younger brothers (David Monnier, Paul Monnier, and Mark Monnier). He finished high school in Carthage, IL and earned his bachelor of science in mathematics from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa.
Steve loved people, so its no surprise that his first job was criss-crossing the country selling Colliers Encyclopedias door-to-door. After Colliers he went on to sell everything from brooms to water filters to roofing and siding before starting his own hearing aid business in Tucson, Arizona, where he loved "sharing the gift of hearing" with his clients. His warm heart and big personality left him with friends throughout the country, a lifetime of amazing stories, and a few tall tales. No matter what he was doing, he always left his mark, usually with one of his great stories and always with a laugh.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Bonnye Gayle Monnier, and brothers Paul, Mark, Dan, and John (Bob) Monnier. He leaves behind his brother David, sisters; Mary, Lou Anne and Nancy, and their families along with his two children Christopher Monnier (Vn Tran Monnier) and Stephanie Farrell (Courtland Farrell) and his four beloved grandchildren: Oliver Monnier, Amelie Monnier, Hadley Farrell and Remy Farrell.
Ceremony will be held at Printy Funeral Homes in Carthage, Illinois in the spring of 2025.
