Steven 'Steve' Baum Obituary Steven Francis Baum, 64, of Queen City, Texas, formerly of Keokuk, IA, passed peacefully at home on Sunday, November 13, 2022 after a hard fought battle with cancer. Steve was born to Donald Francis and Mary Katherine (Lucas) Baum in Keokuk, IA on July 22, 1958. Steve met his wife Kelly RoGene (Egley) Baum in August 1988 and they married August 13, 1994 at Bluff Springs Church. Steve is survived by his wife Kelly, four sons, Jacob (Heather) Baum of Keokuk, IA, Zeth (Megan) Baum of Keokuk, IA, Kyle (Samantha) Baum of New Boston, Texas, Zachary Baum of Nacogdoches, Texas; six grandchildren, Natalie, Payton, Brielle, Anakin, Hayes and Bo; his mother, Mary Baum of Keokuk, IA; Brothers, Randy (Carol) Baum of Triangle, VA, Mike Baum, David (Cassie) Baum, Andy (LeAnn) Baum all of Keokuk, IA; sister, Mary Jo Bowen of Keokuk, IA; brothers-in-law, Victor Egley of Keokuk, IA, Brian Egley of Murray, NE; numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces including his Angel, and Lil Spoily; and cousins. Steve is preceded in death by his father, Don Baum; sisters, Cindy and Linda Baum; nephew, Joshua; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gene and RoseMary (Hale) Egley; brother-in-law, Scott Egley; and two brothers and one sister in infancy. Steve was honorably discharged from the Army in December of 1980. Steve had many different jobs over his lifetime including EMT and Safety Manager. Steves greatest joy was his family, he was very proud of the men his four sons have become. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and even convinced Kelly to ride with him until she; with his encouragement, learned to ride on her own. They spent many happy miles enjoying the view from behind the bars. Per Steves wishes he was cremated. Memorial services will be 4:00 pm, Thursday, November 17, 2022 in the Hanner Funeral Chapel with Bro. Tony Roberts officiating for his extended Texas Family. Services in Keokuk, Iowa, will be held at 10:30 am, on Friday, November 25, 2022, at DeJong-Greaves-Printy Funeral Home in Keokuk, Iowa. Burial with military honors will be held at Keokuk National Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 to 10:30 am on Friday directly before the service. Please wear your favorite Harley Shirt or American Proud shirt in Steves memory and honor. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice or to the family who will donate to a local charity in Keokuk, IA.
