Thomas Jones Obituary Thomas Davis Jones, 82, of Keokuk, passed away at 12:29 PM Friday, October 7, 2016, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. Tom was born June 1, 1934, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Thomas Henry and Amelia Angelia Davis Jones. Tom was raised by his maternal grandparents following his mother's death. He and Marilyn Sweet were united in marriage on March 28, 1954, in Keokuk. Tom lived in Keokuk all his life and was employed by Hubinger as a production specialist for 34 years, retiring in 1995. He served in the National Guard. Tom was a member of United Presbyterian Church and a former member of Local Grain Millers Union. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but mostly enjoyed camping with family and friends. He cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Tom is survived by four children, Thomas Burton (Beverly) Jones of Keokuk, Tracie Lynn (Don) Severns of Hamilton, Illinois, Kevin James Jones of Oskaloosa, Iowa, and Amy JoAnn (Joe) Coulter of Chatham, Illinois; ten grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; a brother Michael Jones of San Antonio, Texas, a sister Kris Jones of North Liberty, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Laura Gallup and Babe Gregory; and two nephews. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday evening, October 13, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center at 917 Blondeau Street. Inurnment will be at a later date.
