Timothy 'Slowride' Svejda Obituary Timothy "Slowride" George Svejda, 66, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023, at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. Timothy was born on December 4, 1956, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of George F. and Katherine (Cochran) Svejda. On July 5, 1980, he was united in marriage to Victoria Hempen, they were later divorced in 2003. Timothy graduated from Keokuk High School and went on to work in construction for the Carl A. Nelson Company in Burlington, Iowa, retiring in 2004. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and listening to music, and in his younger years he loved riding his Harley. His favorite hobby was Walleye fishing and boating on the Mississippi River. Timothy is survived by three sons: Dustin (TaraLynn) Svejda and children Hayden, Mekhi, Greyer, Sawyer, Adriana and Trinity of Hamilton, Illinois; Brandon (Amanda) Svejda and their son Brayden of Dixon, Iowa; and Cody Svejda of Charlotte, North Carolina; his special friend Laura Nichols of Burlington, Iowa; and four siblings: Karla, Mike, Andy and Miriam. Other survivors include several nieces and nephews. Timothy is preceded in death by his parents and two grandsons: Dominic and Donovan Svejda. Timothys life will be celebrated with a memorial service at 11 am on Friday, July 7, 2023, at DeJong-Greaves-Printy Funeral Home in Keokuk. Memorials may be directed to the Tim Svejda Memorial Fund.
