Trena Hoyt Obituary Trena Joyce Hoyt, 83, of Keokuk, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023, at the Montrose Health Center in Montrose, Iowa. Trena was born on June 4, 1940, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Gerald Picton and Annabelle (Huff) Picton Swiftbird. She graduated from Keokuk High School in 1958, and on April 23, 1966, she was united in marriage to William Glen Hoyt in Palmyra, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 10, 2006. Trena was an avid reader and had a strong Christian faith. Trena is survived by two sons: Kirk Hoyt and Kevin Hoyt, both of Keokuk; her daughter Kim Hoyt of Keokuk; two grandchildren: Jerrica of Southern Illinois and Conner Hoyt of Arizona; her sister Garriann (Paul) VonKiedrowski of Hamilton; two half-brothers and two half-sisters. Other survivors include several nieces, nephews and cousins. Trena is preceded in death by her parents, her adopted parents Chris and Leota Moore, and two brothers: Terry (Alice) Picton and Brad (Pat) Picton. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at DeJong-Greaves-Printy Funeral Home in Keokuk, with burial to follow at Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 19, from 3 to 7 pm, with family meeting friends from 5 to 7 pm. Memorials may be directed to the family for expenses in care of Kim Hoyt.
