William Clark Obituary William Dale "Bill" Clark, 77, of Carthage, passed away at 1:03 P.M. Monday, March 2, 2020, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy. Bill was born February 6, 1943, the son of Dorothy Bloyd Clark in San Francisco, California. Dorothy married Robert Markey in 1948. At that time Bob became Bill's father. He attended LaHarpe High School with the class of 1961 and received his diploma while serving in the U.S. Army from November 1960 until his Honorable Discharge in November of 1963. Bill was a man of many talents and interests. He worked as a bookkeeper at the Carthage Elevator and Carthage Livestock. He was also a self-employed carpenter and livestock farmer. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, storytelling, farming and spending time with his family. Bill is survived by eight children, Barbara (Ed) McEwen of California, Linda Lairson of Missouri, Carol Smith of Colchester, Illinois, Dorothy Kimbrell of California, Dustin Clark of Mt. Sterling, Illinois, Lance, Nicole and Danielle Clark, all of Carthage; thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; three brothers, Rick (Bev) Markey of Carthage, Bobby (Angela) Markey of LaHarpe, Richard (Judy) Markey of Burnside, Illinois; three sisters, Cathy (Rick) Johnson of Dallas City, Patty (Mark Guzman) Finch of LaHarpe and Brenda (Robin) Kern of Mt. Airy, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lee Clark and Danny Markey; and two grandchildren, James and Kayla Smith. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 9, 2020, at Calvary Cemetery in Carthage with military rites. Visitation will be held from 6:00 8:00 P.M. Sunday evening at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage.
