William Garrett Obituary William R. Garrett, 84, of Keokuk, Iowa, died Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at his home. He was born on July 7, 1930, to Judd and Laura Garrett in Alexandria, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Betty Seymour on May 6, 1956. She survives. He served in the Army-Navy during the Korean and Vietnam Wars serving his county for twenty-eight years. He worked for Roquette America for twenty years. He loved to fish and visit the river boat. He is survived by his wife Betty Garrett of Keokuk, daughter, Terry (Jim) Walmsley of Newbern, Tennessee, son, R. Tony Garrett of Keokuk, brother, Jack Garrett of Keokuk, and sister Daisy Leggett of Keokuk, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. William was preceded in death by his parents and one brother and two sisters. Celebration of his life will be Friday, August 29, 2014 at 10:00 am, at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Centers at 1212 Concert Street with Rev. William Mitchell officiating. Burial with full military rites will be at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3:00 pm with family meeting friends from 6 to 8 P.M., on Thursday, August 28, 2014, at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center located at 1212 Concert Street. Memorials have been established.
