William McKeel Obituary William M. "Sonny" McKeel, 76, of Carterville, Missouri, formerly of Warsaw, passed away at Texas Harris Methodist Hospital in Ft. Worth, Texas, on Sunday, March 6, 2016. William was born January 14, 1940, the son of William M. and Evalee (Tripp) McKeel in Warsaw. He graduated from Warsaw High School and then entered the U.S. Army serving from 1957 until his honorable discharge in 1970. He served in Vietnam. He was united in marriage to Helen Prochaska. She preceded him in death on January 12, 2012. William had worked in heating and air conditioning after his discharge from the Army. He loved visiting with family and friends and telling his stories. William is survived by three children, William Michael (Joella) McKeel of Waco, Texas, Kenneth Marvin (Lisa) McKeel of Liberty, South Carolina, and Beth Ann McKeel of Pomfret, Maryland; one granddaughter, Ashley McKeel; three sisters, Sharon Buckert of Mattawan, Michigan, Judy Johnson of Carthage, and Colleen Hamon of Joshua, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Michael and Jimmy McKeel; and one sister, Patricia Hammel. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Carthage with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery in Warsaw with military rites. Family will greet friends from 1:00 P.M. until time of services at the church on Saturday. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude's Hospital or donor's choice.
