William Seaver Obituary William John "Bill" Seaver, 88, passed away peacefully with his son Chris by his side, on September 8, 2024, at his home in Sarasota, Florida. Bill was born on December 3, 1935, in Hamilton Illinois. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the US Navy and served for 20 years. He married Joan Patricia "Pat" Breheny on June 1,1957. Together they traveled to all the naval bases he was assigned to during his naval career. They also started to add to their family with each new assignment. Some of these were New London CT, Bainbridge, MD, Pearl Harbor, HI and Great Lakes Naval Station, North Chicago, IL. He also served at the American Embassy in Tokyo, Japan. After retiring from the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer, Bill and his family made their home in Cecil County MD. Where he did farming as well as owned and operated several fencing businesses for over 30 years. Bill was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He lost his wife, Joan Patricia "Pat" Seaver in June 2006. In 2010, he relocated to Sarasota, FL to live out his retirement years. He enjoyed traveling with his companion, Elke Lamphar. They were avid cruise ship tourists, visiting the Caribbean, Panama, Alaska and Europe. They visited Canada, as well as many states in the US. One of his favorite trips was going back to Hawaii. A life well lived. Bill was preceded death by his mother, Wilma Christina Seaver, his first grandchild, Joshua Wayland Routson, his wife of 49 years, Joan Patricia "Pat" Seaver, son-in-law, Nicholas Roland "Nick" Arches, son-in-law, Karl James "Jimmy" Dorman, oldest son, William Patrick "Pat" Seaver and his oldest daughter, Deborah Ann "Debbi" Dorman. He is survived by his siblings, Wilbert Franklin "Frank" Seaver of Luray, MO, Charles Edward "Charlie" Seaver of Tennessee, IL and his sister Loretta Marie Welch of Joplin, MO. Three daughters, Theresa Marie Arches of Kill Devil Hills, NC, Elizabeth Lynn "Beth" Barrow and husband Michael "Mike" Barrow of Berkeley Springs WV and Angelina Marie "Angie" Lynch of North East, MD. Three sons, John Edward "Eddie" Seaver of Cecil County MD, Christopher Alan "Chris" Seaver and his partner, Tracy Lynn Thorn of Cecil County MD and Mark Steven Seaver of Cecil County MD, eighteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. Bills final resting place will be next to his wife Pat at the Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton, IL. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 2pm.
