Obituary

Aaron “Dan” Parson, 69, of Carthage, passed away on February 27, 2023, at Quincy Healthcare & Senior Living in Quincy, Illinois.

Aaron was born on October 1, 1953, the son of James W. and Connie (Richards) Parson in Youngstown, Ohio. He graduated from Nauvoo High School in 1971. On December 31, 1980, He was united in marriage to Lynnette Shawgo in Carthage, Illinois. She preceded him in death. Aaron was employed at Caterpillar in Mapleton, Il, where he melted and poured liquid metal for engine blocks. He later retired from Caterpillar. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union. Aaron loved to fish; crappie fishing was his favorite. He also enjoyed watching sprint car races.

Aaron is survived by his children; Aaron (Jessica) Parson of Omaha, NE, Joseph (Mary Beth) Parson of Omaha, NE, Angela Seidel of Edwardsville, KS, Nikki (Jim) Fink of Carthage, Bobbi (Todd) Humes of Boyce, LA; four brothers, Jack, Patrick, Larry and Tommy; two sisters, Valerie and Ann; Other survivors include his eight grandchildren, Hailea, Emily, Bryer, Allison, Brock, Chase, Legend and Allison; his great-grandson Logan, and great granddaughter Rylie and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lynnette, a brother Billy and three sisters, Linda, Patty Ann, and Raeann. 

In accordance with Dan’s wishes, there will be no services held. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
