It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ann Michele Sowlles (née Heintz), on Thursday, April 27th, 2023, at the age of 58. Born on February 2, 1965, Ann passed away after a long battle with cancer. A graduate of Cardinal Stritch High School, and Western Illinois University, Ann spent most of her career working for the State of Illinois Unemployment Office and was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic church in Hamilton, Illinois. On August 28th, 1993, she was united in marriage to Dr. Richard Sowlles in Hamilton, Illinois.
She is survived in death by her husband, Dr. Richard Sowlles, her four children, Thomas Sowlles, Holly Sowlles (Stephen Svec), Mark (Brianna) Sowlles, Peter Sowlles, her granddaughter, Chloe Svec, and her two brothers, Christopher (Kimberley) Heintz, and John Nicholas (Jodi) Heintz. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, Leah (Dustin, Daxton, Dylan) Drebenstedt, Katherine Heintz, Katlyn Heintz, Mikayla Heintz, Gage Heintz, Fallon Heintz.
She is predeceased by her parents, Rev. Gene and Veronica (Ronnie) Heintz, and her daughter Mary Veronica Sowlles.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 4th, 2023, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hamilton with burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Printy Funeral Home in Hamilton with a Rosary recital at 6:30. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Nauvoo, Illinois or Birthright of Keokuk. Printy Funeral Home of Hamilton is in charge of arrangements.
