B. Dennis Tucker, 66, died Monday, April 25, 2022 in Arlington, Texas.
Dennis was born in Keokuk, Iowa on February 23, 1956 to parents James D. and Geneva M. (Rossignol) Tucker — their third child. Dennis grew up in Hamilton, Illinois until his junior year of high school when the family moved to Abingdon, Illinois — where Dennis graduated from Abingdon High School in 1974. That same year, the family moved to Galesburg, Illinois where he attended Carl Sandburg Jr. College and then moved on to Western Illinois University (WIU) to study law enforcement to pursue his dream to be a police officer. Dennis seized on an opportunity to become a police officer in Reno, Nevada where he worked his way from patrolman to detective during his 22 years of service before having to retire early due to a back injury. Dennis then started a private investigation business before moving on to the Legislative Police for the State of Nevada serving eight years in Carson City and two years in Las Vegas. After retiring again, Dennis moved to Belton, Texas to be closer to family and friends.
Dennis had many friends, both personal and professional, from many places.
He is survived by his mother, Geneva; his siblings, Donald G. Tucker (Alicia) of San Diego, CA; Sandra Cole (John) of Brookline, NH; Trent D. Tucker (Karen) of Mansfield, TX and 7 nephews and 4 nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, James and his brother, Ronald Lee Tucker.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton, Illinois with Father Thomas Szydlik officiating. Printy Funeral Home of Hamilton is in charge of arrangements.
