Betty Joanne Munson Strubinger Boyer, 91, of Carthage, passed away on her birthday, Thursday, March 24, 2022, at River Hills Care Center in Keokuk, Iowa.
Betty was born March 24, 1931 in Carthage, the daughter of the late Marion A. and Bernice G. Landon Munson. She was united in marriage to Michael B. Strubinger December 20, 1953 in Carthage who preceded her in death February 16, 1997. She later married James E. Boyer May 8, 2003 in Pittsfield, IL who died February 10, 2015. Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church of Keokuk, and had retired as a Caseworker after 40 years with the IL Department of Public Aid in Carthage.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Martha (Stephen) Youngmeyer of Carthage; and sons, Michael Charles (Susan) Strubinger of Weldon Spring, MO and Larry (William Hopfner) Strubinger of Chicago. Also 4 grandchildren, Tanya (Robert) West, Kelli (Scott) Kirchoff, David (Hillary) Strubinger and Curtis (Cameron) Strubinger, and great-grandchildren Ava, Garrett, Alison, Abigail, Madeline, Charles Chase, Holden, Lorelai, and Virginia, Robert Charles (Charlie), also many nieces and nephews.
In addition to both husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Arthur, Frances, Marion, Leon and Weldon Munson and 4 sisters Blanche Webber, Irene Vacek, Agnes Campbell and Dorothy Kiesow.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, March 28, 2022, at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with burial to follow in Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until time of services at 11:00 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Keokuk First Baptist Church youth program. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
