Bonnie N. Jenkins, 95, of Hamilton, Illinois; passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019, at River Hills Village in Keokuk, Iowa.
Bonnie was born on December 12, 1923, in Galena, Missouri, the daughter of Newton and Martha (Stelle) Snodgrass. On October 12, 1940, she was united in marriage to Raymond F. Jenkins in Palmyra, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 27, 2008.
Bonnie is survived by her son Larry (Sandra) Jenkins of Hamilton, Illinois; daughter-in-law Roberta Jenkins of Glendale, Arizona; her grandchildren: Tim (Stacy) Jenkins of Quincy, Illinois; Jennifer Olsen of Wisconsin; Lisa (Gene) Jinkens of Rushville, Illinois; and Pam Wheeler of Des Moines, Iowa; eleven great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; two brothers: Earl (Nellie) Snodgrass of Alabama; and Cleveland (Faye) Snodgrass of New London, Missouri; and her sister Ethyl Carney of Monticello, Illinois. Other survivors include many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond, her son David Jenkins, her grandson Scott Jenkins, five brothers and one sister.
A fifty-five year member of the First Christian Church in Hamilton and Past Matron of Order of the Eastern Star, Bonnie spent her life as a homemaker and farm wife. She was known for her delicious cooking and baking, especially her incredible pies. In her free time, Bonnie enjoyed playing cards, fishing and traveling.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at Printy Funeral Home in Hamilton, with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 to 11 am on Tuesday directly before the service.
Memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church in Hamilton.
