Carol Kay Snyder

Carol (Walton) Snyder, 81, formerly of Carthage passed away at 1:45 p.m. on July 7, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family and friends in Massillon, Ohio.

Carol was born on July 10, 1940, the daughter of Arthur and Olive (Kelly) Walton in Carthage, Illinois.  She was the sixth child of eleven children in her family. Carol spent many years working for cleaning company’s, handmade services, and local churches. She was a companion for many as she would sit and comfort people whenever she got the chance. Carol loved the Lord very much and attended the Assembly of God church in Carthage for many years and then later attended the Church of the Nazarene in Montrose, Iowa. She was an active participant at the Sarah Care of Belden Village where she met many new friends and created lots of fond memories. Carol loved to walk and enjoyed walking through the country looking at nature. Carol’s love of music and dancing, as well as her famous “dough dodgers,” will be missed greatly by her loved ones.

Carol is survived by her children, Scott (Robin) Thompson of Massillon, OH, Larry (Debra) Thompson of Rock Falls, IL, Stacey (Kenneth) Owens of Massillon, OH and granddaughter Carol (Jon) Post of Peoria, IL; her grandchildren Shea Roberts, and Rebecca Burgdorf; her great grandchildren, Chase (Kylie) Coleman, Grace Post, Owen Post, Aiden Post; a brother Pat Walton of Lyndon, IL and many other great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Teresa Deck; her brothers Bill Walton, Marion Walton, Bobby Walton, Chris Walton; and her sisters, Rena McIntyre, Ruby Walton, June Riley, Annie Conover, and Sue Walton.

A memorial service will be held at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage at 11:00 a.m. on July 30, 2022. Memorials can be made out to Sarah Care of Belden Village, Ohio. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements
