Cletus Jan Conover, 62, of Warsaw passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
He was born on July 14th, 1958, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Joseph B. and Ida Bell (Owrey) Conover.
Cletus attended Warsaw High School and went on to become a dedicated maintenance worker at Dadant & Sons, Inc. in Hamilton, Illinois, for many years.
He loved fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting and tending to his vegetable garden. Cletus was also a diehard St. Louis Cardinals fan. He thoroughly enjoyed smoking meats for parties and spending time with his family and friends.
Cletus is survived by his son Travis (Jackie) Conover of Keokuk, Iowa; daughter Megan (Dan Hoenig) Conover of Montrose, Iowa; and two grandchildren: Drew Conover and Piper Conover. Also surviving are his siblings Joyce (Paul) Miller and Angelia (Bob) Gooding of Warsaw, Kevin Conover of Augusta, Illinois, Sheldon (Cindy) Conover of Stillwell, Illinois, Seldon (Kathy) Conover of Burlington, Iowa, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Weldon Conover, long-time companion Di Dorothy and good friends Terry Householder and Gary Haage.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at Printy Funeral Home, Warsaw, IL with family meeting friends from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Printy Funeral Home in Warsaw, Illinois with Pastor Jared Massey officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Warsaw, Illinois, following the funeral service.
For the safety of those attending, masks are strongly encouraged and social distancing practices will be in place.
