Danny Morgan Quinn, 75, of Carthage, passed away at 5:30 AM Monday morning, March 22, 2021, at his home.
Danny was born March 3, 1946 at home in Abingdon, IL to Forrest and Doris McCraken. He was later adopted by James and Katherine Quinn. He graduated from Bishop Ready High School in Columbus, Ohio. Danny loved to visit and never treated anyone as a stranger. He enjoyed sales and worked for Quinn Furniture and other companies. Danny was a drafting design engineer in Mansfield, Ohio where he designed liquid containers for airplane galleys. In addition, he worked for AMF, designing bowling equipment. He retired from Methode Electronics in 2000 where he was a draftsman for automotive electronic components. On December 1, 1990 he was united in marriage to Linda Schmidt Redenius at the Immanuel Lutheran Church near Basco, IL. Danny was an active community member volunteering at Carthage Memorial Hospital. He enjoyed spreading the Christmas spirit as Santa Claus. In his earlier years he would entertain at birthday parties as a clown. He was an active member of the Mississippi Rat Pak car club which grew from his love of hotrods, cars and trucks. He was an excellent woodworker and loved dogs, especially Collies and Shelties. Many hours were spent fishing with family and friends, especially Jeremy Ford and Dave Ufkes.
Danny is survived by his wife, Linda, of Carthage; six children, Carrie (Chris) Woodside of Brooklyn, Illinois, Danny (Rhonda) Quinn of Delaware, Ohio, Wendy (Chuck) Hartley of Columbus, Ohio, Scott (Stacey) Redenius of Rockford, Illinois, Mike (Kristi) Redenius of Aurora, Illinois and Mandy (David) Steinkamp of Carthage; eighteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a sister, Lynda Clark of Plymouth, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his wife Judy King Quinn, his parents, James and Katherine Quinn; his biological parents, Forest and Doris McCracken; and two brothers, Butch Lawson and Gary McCracken.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday morning, March 26, 2021, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Carthage. Burial will follow in the Moss Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M. Thursday evening at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with family meeting friends from 5:00 – 7:00. Memorials may be directed to H.U.G.S.
