Emma Louise Day, 73, of Carthage, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Memorial Hospital in Carthage, surrounded by family. 

Emma was born March 11, 1950, to Damon and Lala (Martin) Mustain in Macomb, Illinois.  On February 18, 1967, she was united in marriage to Donald Day Sr. in Carthage.  Emma loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.  She was an avid reader and could spend hours lost in a book.  She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, fishing, camping, and attending car shows.

Emma is survived by four children.  Tammie (John) Sinibaldi of Carthage, Donald Day Jr. of Carthage, Lonnie (Brenda) Day of Carthage, and Jamie (Erin) Day of Bowen; grandchildren, Britany (Nathan) Stanberry, Andrew (Je Anne) Nelson, Kade Nelson, Kraig (Sarah) Haukapp, Alan (Laura Adami), Nicole (T.J.) Stevenson, Haylie (David Maynard), Damon Day, Michael Day, Emmalee (Kira Houghton) Day, Joey Bolander, Margo Russell and Alexis Russell; great grandchildren, Jaryn (Paige Williams) Bolander, Linkin Dodds, Addalyn Stanberry, Decklan Stanberry, Emmeren Stanberry, Oaklyn Nelson, Aubrie Maynard, Ashton Stevenson, Preslee Stevenson, Kolbe Haukapp, Jayden Day and Jaycob Day; great great grandchild Axton Bolander;  2 sisters-in-law,  Peggy Mustain of Lincoln, Susan (Dan) Griffith of Galesburg, brother-in-law William (Connie) Day Jr. of Galesburg; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Albert and Glen Mustain.

 A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.  Memorials may be sent to Printy Funeral Home Carthage, Illinois.
