Helen Simmons, 92, formerly of Carthage, passed away in Louisville, Colorado, November 28, 2020.
Helen was born November 23, 1928, the daughter of John Henry and Minnie Magdalene (Schlicher) Kimler in Edina, Missouri. On January 14, 1978, she was united in marriage to Duane Simmons at the United Methodist Church in Hamilton. He preceded her in death in 2018. Helen had lived in Hamilton for many years and worked in Keokuk at Sheller-Globe for over 25 years retiring in 1991. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Carthage.
Helen is survived by her children, Janet (Brian) Fox of Tampa, Florida and Kenneth (Judy) Koeber of Louisville, Colorado; four grandchildren, Angie (Chet) Ratliff, Liz (Tim) Cherry, and Alison and Evan Koeber; four great grandchildren, Kayden Fox, Imogen, Penelope and Rory Ratliff; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Duane; and all 12 of her siblings.
Funeral services will be held at Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage on September 4, 2021 at 10am. Memorials may be directed to the United Methodist Church in Carthage. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
