James Gary “Heavy” Myers, 79, of Hamilton, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at Mississippi Valley Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Keokuk, Iowa.

Gary was born on July 16, 1940, in Hancock County, Illinois, the son of Alman and Helen (Holtsclaw) Myers. He spent most of his working career at the Cheese Factory in Nauvoo, and spent the latter years working as a cook at Chintz’s in Keokuk.

Gary is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Denny, Linton and Thomas.

A private family burial will be held at a later date.
