Joseph Shoemaker Obituary

Joe Irving Shoemaker, 71, of Lewistown, Missouri, formerly of Hamilton, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at his home.

Joe was born November 19, 1950, the son of Clyde G. and Bertha (Miller) Shoemaker in Carthage, Illinois. He served in the United States Army and worked in construction for many years in Illinois and Florida. He also enjoyed woodworking and sold many of his designs.

Joe is survived by two daughters, Poppy (Dustin) Smith of Hannibal, Missouri and Beth (Trent) Overton of Wentzville, Missouri; four sisters, Barbara Strange of Osceola, Iowa, Frances Campbell of Rushville, Sandra Hovarter of Jacksonville, Florida and Cindy Hopkins of Rushville, Illinois; and many, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Linda Kinne and Wanda Peterman.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Printy Funeral Home of Hamilton is in charge of the arrangements.
