Linda Ellen Clough, age 73, of Hamilton, IL passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 19th, 2022 at Memorial Hospital in Carthage, IL.
She was born in Keokuk, IA on September 11th, 1948 to Edwin and Mary (Carroll) Beard. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Paul Clough of Hamilton, son Brian (Holly) Clough of Littleton, CO, daughter Leslie (Marc) Cochran of Hamilton, IL and five grandchildren, Seth Cochran, Ryan Cochran, Molly Cochran of Hamilton, IL and Kylee Clough and Emily Wray of Littleton, CO. One sister, Carroll (Mike) Gray of Warsaw, IL and one brother, Larry (Jeana) Beard of Hamilton, IL. Sister-in-laws Rayline (Don) Perry of Kahoka, MO, Sheila (Larry) Eyster of Quincy, IL, Lillian (Les) Hulquist of Ashland, IL and brother-in-law Louie (Aida) Clough of Warsaw, IL. Also, her best friend since childhood, Carol Ann (George) Huffman of Hamilton, IL and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Hamilton High School Class of 1966 and continued to be involved in reunions. She was of Catholic faith. She was a member of the Keokuk Yacht Club and loved the river and boating. She was employed over the years at Sheller Globe in Keokuk, Elvaston Elevator in Elvaston, Dr. Sowles in Hamilton and The Dress Shop in Hamilton. She enjoyed playing cards, Yahtzee, cooking and hosting events at her house and was her most happiest when she was surrounded by her family. She adored, and was adored by her grandchildren and was extremely proud of them. Family was everything to her. She is preceded in death by her parents Edwin and Mary Beard and one brother-in-law, George Clough and his wife Linda Clough.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday morning, January 24th, 2022 at Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton. Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 7:00 P.M. Sunday at Printy Funeral Home in Hamilton with family meeting friends from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Memorials can be made to the Cardinal Foundation for Hamilton Schools. Printy Funeral Home of Hamilton is in charge of arrangements.
