Lucille "Lue" Wehner Obituary

Lucille M. “Lue” Wehner, 102, of Quincy, formerly of Warsaw, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at Sunset Home in Quincy.

Lue was born in rural Hancock County, Illinois, to Theodore and Margaret Schlosser on December 27, 1915. She married Woodrow W. “Woody” Wehner on April 30, 1940, in Terra Haute, Indiana. He preceded her in death on August 3, 1989.

An active member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Warsaw for many years, Lue later attended St. John’s Lutheran Church in Quincy. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and cared deeply for her family. Lue was also known for her delicious cooking and baking.

Lue is survived by her two daughters: Sandra Wehner and Mavis (Chuck) Van Camp of Quincy, Illinois; her son Kevin (Diana) Wehner of Shawnee, Kansas; four grandchildren: Jon Van Camp and Kimberly (John) Johannes of Quincy; Chad (Kellie) Van Camp of St. Louis, Missouri; and Aaron (Christy) Wehner of Hamilton, Illinois; and eight great-grandchildren: Mitchell Johannes of St. Louis, Missouri; Nicholas Johannes in college at Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Matthew Johannes of Quincy; Regan Van Camp of Quincy; and Jay, Josie, Annetta and Griffen Wehner of Hamilton. Other survivors include two nephews: Nelson (JoAnn) Wehner of Independence, Iowa; and Roland (Marilyn) Wehner of Iowa City, Iowa; and a very special friend, Doris Foley of Warsaw.

Lue was preceded in death by her husband Woody, her parents, four brothers and three sisters.

A private family service will be held at 11 am on Monday, October 29, 2018, at Printy Funeral Home in Warsaw, with burial to follow in the Lutheran Cemetery in Warsaw.

Memorials may be directed to Sunset Home in Quincy or St. John’s Lutheran Church in Quincy.
