Mary Moore Obituary

Mary J. Moore, 81, of Fort Madison, Iowa, has left this earth on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at her home. She has gone to glory and is dancing in Heaven.

Mary was born on September 26, 1940, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Umberto and Edith (Andrews) Rapagnani. She went on to receive her degree as a Medical Technologist. She worked in the Keokuk hospital and Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, Florida.

Mary “Mama” was a woman of great faith, a servant of Christ. Her positive attitude touched many lives in Iowa, Florida, Canada and Guatemala. Mary enjoyed painting birdhouses, crafting, puzzles and eating ice cream with Hadley Rae. She loved traveling, watching birds, flowers in her garden, chocolates, listening to praise songs and watching Christian TV. She was a kind, forgiving and loving person. Her favorite saying was “Give it all to God”. Her favorite songs include “I Can Only Imagine” by Mercy Me and “Enciende Una Luz” by Marcos Witt. Until her last breath, she showed us the peace of God, which is above all understanding.

Mary is survived by her only daughter Debra Moore of Fort Madison, Iowa; one brother: Joseph Rapagnani of Keokuk, Iowa; two sisters: Barbara Reuter of Freeport, Illinois, and Kathy Rapagnani of Grand Blanc, Michigan; cousins from the Cetta and Andrews families; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews from the Kopiecki, Reuter, Summers, Dohrn and McElwain families. She is also survived by her dog Canchita and cat Miracle.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents and three sisters: Edith Kopiecki, Carolyn Summers  and Elizabeth Dohrn.

A graveside gathering will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Oakland  Cemetery in Keokuk, Iowa.
