Mitzie Lynn (Londrie) Bland

Mitzie Lynn Bland, 62, of Basco, passed away at her home at 11:48 A.M. May 3, 2019, surrounded by her family.

Mitzie was born June 24, 1956, the daughter of Kenneth and Helen (Jones) Londrie in Carthage.  She graduated from Carthage High School.  Mitzie had worked many years at the Hancock County Mental Health Center, Methode Electronics and had owned and operated “The Office” in Basco until 2006.  She enjoyed fishing and she and Earl would host an annual fish fry at “The Office” for friends and family.  She also enjoyed collecting Pillsbury Dough Boy memorabilia.  Mitzie was married to Eldon Wachtendorf and from that union a son, Jerry Steven Wachtendorf, was born.  They later divorced and she was united in marriage to Earl Bland in Carthage on August 18, 2006.

Mitzie is survived by her husband, Earl, of Basco; son, Jerry (Tammie Gipe) Wachtendorf of Basco; step-son, Scott (Tina) Bland of Bowen; three grandchildren, Hillary, Catilyn and Paige Bland; sisters, Lois Bloyd of Carthage and Margie Thomas of Buckeye, Arizona; three brothers, Max (Ann) Londrie of Washington, Illinois, Michael “Mickey” Londrie of Carthage and Gary (Marie) Londrie of Tonopah, Arizona; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Joseph, Sonny, Wayne and Randy Londrie; four sisters, June Propst, Claire Londrie, Bonnie Sue Cosgrove and Marcia Londrie; and a niece, Dawn R. Thomas.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday evening, May 7, 2019 at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with family meeting friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.  Private family burial will be held in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery near Basco at a later date.  Memorials may be directed to H.U.G.S.  Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
