Patricia Lea (Rampley) Bowden

Patricia “Pat” Lea Bowden, 71, of Kahoka, Missouri, formerly of Keokuk, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

Pat was born on December 11, 1951, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Charles Rampley and Marilyn JoAnn Elder-Rampley. On July 3, 1970, she was united in marriage to Howard Ernest Bowden in Keokuk. He preceded her in death on December 2, 2016.

Pat was employed as a custodian at George Washington School for over thirty years, retiring in 2006. She was an avid reader, and shared that love with children after retirement, volunteering for reading at the school. She enjoyed spending her free time playing video poker on her phone and loved her pets. Most of all, she loved her family and put them first always.

Pat is survived by her daughter Melissa A. (Joe) McFarland of Appleton, Wisconsin; her son Brad M. Bowden of Kahoka, Missouri; her grandson Jake; four great-grandchildren: Aleah, Amiaah, Athena and Jacob, Jr.; two sisters: Judy Dray of Keokuk and Michelle (Dan) Frey of Kirksville, Missouri; her adopted (good) daughter Vickie Conover-Mason; her adopted grandchildren Travis and Megan Conover; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents and three grandchildren: Jessica McFarland, and Robert and Rebecca Cooper.

Pat’s life will be celebrated with a memorial service at 11 am on Friday, May 5, 2023, at DeJong-Greaves-Printy Funeral Home in Keokuk. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10 to 11 am directly before the service.
