Patricia J. "Patsy" Loter

Patricia J. “Patsy” Loter, 87, of Hamilton, Illinois, passed away at Memorial Hospital in Carthage, Illinois due to complications of COVID 19.

Patsy was born March 3, 1933 to George W. and Catherine E. (Leeper) Loter at St. Joseph Hospital in Keokuk, Iowa.  She graduated from Warsaw High School and was a lifelong resident of the area, living in Warsaw and Hamilton.  She never married.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hamilton.

Patsy was employed by Western Illinois Telephone Company as office manager and switch board operator from 1950 until 1961 when the office closed.  She then worked at Sheafer Pen in Fort Madison, Iowa, Seither and Cherry and Hubinger in Keokuk.  She was an office manager and sales agent for Cosgrove Real Estate in Hamilton and H & R Block in Keokuk retiring in 2008.

Patsy enjoyed traveling, going on bus trips with friends, and reading and watching television.  She had been home bound for the past few years due to failing health.

Patsy is survived by one sister, Sharon M. Loter and one brother, Robert M. “Bob” (Judith) Loter both of Hamilton; a nephew, Todd Loter of Hamilton; two nieces, Jackie Householder of Collinsville, Oklahoma and Leisa (Jerry) McCredie of Eustis, Florida; many great nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Richard and Donald.

Cremation is in complying her request.  There will be no visitation or service due to COVID 19.   A private graveside burial will be held at the Keokuk Catholic Cemetery on the family plot at a later date.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hamilton.  Condolences may be left at www.printyfuneralhome.com.  Printy Funeral Home of Hamilton is in charge of arrangements.
