Patricia “Pat” A. Althide, 76, of Hamilton, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Memorial Hospital in Carthage.
Pat was born August 23, 1945, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Ralph and Virginia (Frank) Nichols. She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1963, and went on to attend Gem City College of Cosmetology. Pat was united in marriage to the love of her life Rodney J. Althide on March 26, 1966. He preceded her in death in 1998.
Pat worked as a cosmetologist her entire life. She owned and operated her own beauty shop out of her home for the majority of that time. She enjoyed talking with her customers and hearing about their lives.
Pat was blessed with four grandchildren who were the light of her life. She enjoyed spending time with them and taking them to DQ and Dollar General. She was always ready to babysit or drive them where ever they needed to be. Her face lit up when her grandkids were around. She also enjoyed talking with her friends, Zumba, going on walks, line dancing, golfing and listening to Elvis Presley. Pat was a member of Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church in Warsaw.
Pat is survived by two sons: Bradley (Angela) Althide of La Plata, Missouri, and Brandon (Kimberly) Althide of Basco, Illinois; and four grandchildren: Callie Althide and Cassidy Althide of La Plata, Missouri, and Kaden Althide and Skylar Althide of Basco, Illinois.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister Janet Treach.
Graveside services will be held at Bethlehem United Church of Christ Cemetery in Sutter, Illinois, on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church of Warsaw.
