Paulie Wayne Hobbs, known by family and friends as Wayne, 76, of Carthage, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021, at his home in Carthage.
Wayne was born June 7, 1944, in Cave In Rock, Illinois, to Paulie and Clara (Clanton) Hobbs. He was a graduate of Sandoval High School in 1961. Following high school he joined the United States Air Force and fought in the Vietnam War. After his Honorable Discharge from the Air Force he worked for Continental Telephone Company and as a truck driver, retiring in 2010.
Wayne is survived by daughters, Alicia (Randy) Westbrook of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Sheila (Ben) Buretz of Indiana, Sherry McMillen of Iowa and Crista Dulguime of California; grandchildren, Crystal (Clint) Garren, Justin Westbrook, Jessie Cameron, Jake Cameron, Alyssa McMillen and Shanda McMillan; great grandchildren, Mila Westbrook and Layla Cameron.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan; parents; and a sister, Carolyn.
Military Rites will be rendered at 4:00 P.M. Saturday afternoon, March 20, 2021, at the Carthage V.F.W. at 29 N. Madison Street by the Hancock County Honor Guard. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
