R. Huffman Obituary

R. Ilene Huffman, 94, of Hamilton, passed away at 3:55 PM Sunday afternoon, November 22, 2020 at Memorial Hospital in Carthage.

Ilene was born June 18, 1926, one of seven children to Sherman Rex and Leatha Jane (McVeigh) Greenslaugh. She worked almost forty years at Dadants. Ilene was a member of the Faith Assembly of God Church in Hamilton. She loved word search puzzles, spending time with her friends at the senior center, her children, grandchildren especially her granddaughter Rosemarie who she was very close to and was holding her hand when she passed away.

Ilene married Clarence Leland Schneider in July of 1942 and they had two wonderful sons, William Clarence and Daniel Lee Schneider. Clarence passed away in 1951. She then married Willard E. Towsend which brought two more children, Ronald and Marjorie Perry to her family. Willard preceded her in death in 1974. In January 1976 she married George W. Huffman which brought seven stepsons to her family, Steven, George Jr., Roger, Tony, Chris, David and Timothy. George passed away in December 2006.

Ilene is survived by her son Daniel (Arlene) Schneider of Larchmont, NY,; step-son Ronald Perry of Beloit, WI; grandson Ian (Rachel) Schneider of Chicago, granddaughter Rosemarie (Kurt) Sleaford of Fairfield, IA, grandsons Brandon (Julia) Windfelder of New London, IA, Jim (Joel) and Hannah Selph of Knoxville, TN, Willard (Suzanne), Devin, and Emillee Selph of Waldorf, MD, granddaughter Brittney (Danny) Maddox of Crofton, MD; step-sons, George Jr (Carol Ann) Huffman of Hamilton, Chris (Sunshine) Huffman of Warsaw, David Huffman of Keokuk and Timothy (Brenda) Huffman of Keokuk; and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Albert, Raymond, Sherman, Mary, Delores and Carl; husbands, Clarence, Willard and George; a son, William Clarence; daughter Marjorie Deane and son-in-law, Jimmy Selph; step-sons, Steve, Roger and Tony Huffman; grandson, Quint Huffman; and several nieces nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton. Cards and memorials may be sent to Ilene’s granddaughter, Rosemarie Sleaford at 604 W. Harrison Avenue, Fairfield, IA 52556.
