Robert Franklin Schneider

Robert Franklin Schneider, 85, of Hamilton, passed away at 7:48 AM Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

Robert was born May 13, 1936, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Myron and Dorothy (Carlisle) Schneider.  He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1954 and went on to receive his B.A. from Western Illinois University in Macomb in 1962.  On June 10, 1962, he was united in marriage to Irene Ruth Goudy at the First Christian Church in Hamilton.  She preceded him in death in 2002.  Robert served in the United States Army Reserve receiving his Honorable Discharge in 1964.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Hamilton Jaycees and the Hamilton Library Board.  Robert had worked many years as a case worker for the State of Illinois retiring in 1996.

Robert is survived by three children, Edwin Schneider of Hamilton, William Schneider of Mt. Pulaski, Illinois and David (Mark Bray) Schneider of Normandy Park, Washington; and three grandchildren, Ian and Aidan Schneider and Charles Polk.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Irene.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, September 10, 2021, at Printy Funeral Home in Hamilton with burial to follow in Lewistown Township Cemetery in Lewistown.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Thursday evening at Printy Funeral Home in Hamilton.  Memorials may be made to the Hamilton Public Library.  Printy Funeral Home of Hamilton is in charge of arrangements
