Susan J. Garrett

Susan Jane Garrett, 74, of Elvaston, passed away at 11:13 AM Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

Susan was born July 12, 1946, in Whitesboro, Texas, the daughter of Charles and June (Syron) West.  On September 28, 1974, she was united in marriage to Fred Garrett in LaHarpe, Illinois.  He survives.  Susan worked many years for Ann Menke Accounting in Keokuk retiring in 2012.  She was a member of the First Christian Church in Hamilton and an avid supporter of Transitions of Western Illinois in Quincy. 

Susan is survived by her husband, Fred, of Elvaston; children, Shondra (C.L.) Hutson of Keokuk, Shane (Kristina) Garrett of Dixon, TN, Donnie (Jenny) Patrick of White Bluff, TN, Jimmy Patrick of Quincy and Stacey (Rich) Huss of Burlington; fourteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two brothers, James (Lori) West of Vancouver, WA and Ron (Shelly) West of Salem, OR; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Nancy; and a niece.

Extended visitation hours will be held at Printy Funeral Home in Hamilton from 2:00 – 8:00 PM Sunday evening, December 20, 2020.  Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 21, 2020, at the Elvaston Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to Transitions of Western Illinois in Quincy.  Printy Funeral Home of Hamilton is in charge of arrangements.
