Teresa Lynn Geissler, 67, of Warsaw, passed away at 4:45 PM Sunday, January 22, 2023, at her home.
Teresa was born January 6, 1956, in Canton, Illinois, the daughter Charles D. and Norma (Stremmel) Brown. She graduated from Canton High School in 1974 where she enjoyed great success with the concert band as a flutist. She then went on to receive her LPN from Spoon River College graduating in 1975. On July 13, 1991, she was united in marriage to William Geissler at the Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church in Astoria. Teresa enjoyed riding horses, especially in her younger years, and had a life-long love of her pets and animals. She was a talented artist in many areas such as painting, drawing, glass etching, beading and calligraphy. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. She had been attending Trinity Lutheran Church in Carthage for several years and sung in the choir.
Teresa is survived by her husband, William, of Warsaw; three children, Christopher (Jennifer) Murphy of Carthage, Taryn (John) Geissler-Vincent of Hannibal and Trey (Leah Ridgeway) Geissler of Warsaw; grandchildren, Alexis and Gavin Murphy and Brinnley, Kimber, and Emmerly Geissler; her mother, Norma Brown of Carthage; one brother, Barton (Mary) Brown of Canton; and a sister, Stacey (Dave) Sparrow of Carthage.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles D. Brown; and a sister, Sheila Prior; and her dog, Satchmo “Satch” who she was deeply attached to.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday morning, January 28, 2023, at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Friday evening at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage. A memorial fund has been established. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
