Thomas Frederick Price, Jr.

Thomas Price, 67, of Nauvoo, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Memorial Hospital in Carthage.

Thomas was born November 22, 1955, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Thomas F. and Kathryn Ruth (Morton) Price, Sr.  He attended Hamilton High School graduating in 1975 and went on to receive his associate degree in Auto mechanics from Indian Hills College.  On June 18, 1983, he was united in marriage to Belinda Snodgrass at the First Baptist Church in Keokuk, Iowa.  Thomas worked as an auto mechanic for many years in Keokuk, owning and operating Car Care Service and most recently working for Englund Auto Repair.  He was an active member of the Golden Point Christian Church serving as a greeter and bell ringer.  He had a lifelong love of cars and enjoyed watching NASCAR events.  He also enjoyed watching football and flying kites. He loved working with wood and tinkering with clocks and had made clocks for many family members. He also enjoyed studying the Bible, participating in Sunday School and Community Bible Study.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Belinda, of Nauvoo; children, Anna (James) Stephens of Hamilton, Sarah (Zephaniah) Love of Terra Haute, Illinois, Martha (Isaiah) Hartweg of Elvaston and Thomas “Tommy” Price, III; grandchildren, Eva, Josiah, Emily and River Love and Isabella, Jeremiah and Gabriella Hartweg; a sister, Edie (Robert) Filz of Bowen; a brother, John (Anita) Price of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Emily Jean, in infancy: and two sisters, Margaret Newberry and Elizabeth Houston.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday morning, November 4, 2023, at the Golden Point Christian Church with burial to follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Friday evening at Printy Funeral Home in Hamilton.  Memorials may be directed to the Golden Point Christian Church or Tri-State Family Services in Carthage.  Printy Funeral Home of Hamilton is in charge of arrangements.
