Timothy Leon Merritt

Timothy Leon Merritt, 60, of Quincy, formerly of Carthage, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021, in Quincy.

Timothy was born March 23, 1961, the son of Richard and Lucille (Vass) Merritt in Peoria, Illinois.  He graduated from Carthage High School in 1980.  He had worked on the family farm and for the family business, Merritt Farm Equipment. He later moved to Texas and worked for Camping World.  He later served as a D.J. and also owned and operated BNO Dirt, a landscaping, mowing and snow removal company.  Tim loved music and singing.

Timothy is survived by his father, Richard (Barbara) Merritt of Carthage; sister, Marlena (William) Siverly of Carthage; daughters, Aimee Elaine Merritt of Keokuk, Noel Renee (Adam) Bruns of Liberty, Illinois and Christina Amanda Wainscott of Hannibal, Missouri; grandchildren, Evon Merritt, Adrianna and Claira Bruns, Elijah and Issac Siverly, and Abbytt DeGaro; long-time companion, Robert Clow of Quincy; his former wife, Jayne Merritt of Keokuk; a nephew, Joshua (Autumn) Siverly; niece, Jessica (Carmen) Mugnolo; and several great nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Merritt.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, December 3, 2021, at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage.  Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday evening at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with family meeting friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM.  Private burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family for funeral expenses.  Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
