Verne Neil Hutson, 86, of Jackson, Missouri, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, with family by his side.

Verne was born September 2, 1936, in Warsaw, Illinois. He is survived by his wife, Ann Lincoln of Jackson, Missouri; his children, Brenda Hutson, Randy and Carrie Hutson, Denise and Rick Jokerst, Tammy and Mike Homan; his step-sons, Tony Lincoln and Scott Lincoln, his grandchildren, Dawn and Wes Willitt, Dayna Hutson and D.J. Gollitko, Tina Hutson, Brian Hutson, Jonathan and Lynnie Greene, Kira and Mark Kruszynski, Jaclyn and Ryan Lansing, Jeremy and Ashley Homan, and Ryan and Shari Homan, 17 great grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, and special nephew Richard and Annie Howell and their 3 children.

Verne was preceded in death by Luann Hutson, his wife of 58 years, his son, Steven Hutson, his parents, Neil and Helen Hutson, his in-laws, Dale and Opal Brodie, brother Claude Hutson, sisters Elizabeth Bird and Lorena Brown and sister-in-law, Sharon Howell.

Verne was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in Korea during the Korean Conflict. In Verne's civilian career he worked with companies such as Morton Buildings and retired from Keokuk Home Store. He loved the Lord most of all and was a Godly man involved in his church as well as loving to bowl and play cards.

Verne's favorite charity was St. Jude Children's Research Hospital because he loved all children which showed through the way he loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM, Thursday, January 19, 2022, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Friday, January 20,2023, at Connection Point Church in Jackson with Pastor Chris Vaught officiating.

Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, January 22, 2023, in Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage, Illinois with full military honors.
