Clarence “Marty” Martin Hall, 55, of Warsaw, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2019, at Unity Point – Keokuk.
Marty was born on December 27, 1963, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Junior “Henry” and Helen Marie (Palmer) Hall. On November 10, 1984, he was united in marriage to Wendy Sue Lasley in Carthage, Illinois. She survives.
A long-time resident of Hancock County, Marty was employed at Keokuk High School as a History, Geography and Civics teacher. In his late 30’s, Marty went to college and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Western Illinois University. He loved his job and was beloved by all of his students. Marty also coached baseball, basketball and track. In his free time, Marty enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He was constantly tinkering on something in his garage. Marty also enjoyed going on vacation and rooting for the Chicago Cubs, but his greatest love in life was his family.
Marty is survived by his wife Wendy Sue Hall of Warsaw, Illinois; his son Martin “Tyler” (Karen) Hall of Hamilton, Illinois; two daughters: Kelsey Marie (Jedidiah) Kramer of Donnellson, Iowa; and Marley Rebecca Hall of Keosauqua, Iowa; five grandchildren: Henry Lee Hall, Evelyn Rose Hall, Alton James Kramer; Hallee Kathryn Chappell, Emory Amelia Kramer; and another grandson due soon; four brothers: Charles (Pam) Dean of Florida; Glenn Dean of Ohio; Hal (Mandy) Hall of Hamilton, Illinois; and Scott (Fiance Kelley Berquam) Hall; his sister Starr Hall of Geneva, Illinois; his aunt and uncle Pam and Kent Oldham of Grand Junction, Colorado; and Granny Sarah Gabriel. Other survivors include numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Marty is preceded in death by his parents.
Marty’s life will be celebrated with a memorial service at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at the Keokuk High School Wright Fieldhouse in Keokuk, Iowa.
Memorials may be directed to the Keokuk Activities Department or to the family for a scholarship fund in memory of Marty.
