Wanda Peterman, 60, of Hamilton, formerly of Rushville, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at her home in Hamilton, surrounded by her family.
Wanda was born on January 13, 1959, in Pittsfield, Illinois, the daughter of Clyde and Bertha (Miller) Shoemaker. On August 22, 2009, she was united in marriage to Charles “Chuck” Peterman in Indianapolis, Indiana. He survives.
Wanda was employed for many years as a CNA at Snyders Vaughn Haven in Rushville, and also worked as a manager at the Ayerco Convenience Center in Rushville. When she was not working, she enjoyed making arts and crafts, fishing for catfish, and enjoying the great outdoors. Wanda loved her family dearly.
Wanda is survived by her husband Chuck Peterman of Hamilton; six sons: Clyde Shoemaker of Hamilton; James (Amber) Shoemaker of Hamilton; Michael (Becky) Shoemaker of Rushville, Illinois; Patrick (Jenny) Shoemaker of Colchester, Illinois; Christopher (Samantha) Shoemaker of Woodlawn, Tennessee; Jack (Marci) Shoemaker of Colchester, Illinois; seventeen grandchildren: Mackenzie, Kaitlyn, Caleb, Kaylie, Colton, Logan, Andi, Owen, Frankie, Brodie, Tyler, Kyle, Keaton, Sidney, Athena, Lilah and Harper; two step-daughters: Jennifer and Samantha Peterman; her brother Joe Shoemaker of Canton, Missouri; four sisters: Barb Strange of Plymouth, Illinois; Cindy Hopkins of Rushville, Illinois; Leota Campbell of Rushville, Illinois; and Sandy Hovarter of Jacksonville, Florida. Other survivors include numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Linda Kinne, her daughter-in-law Jennifer Gossage, and her brother-in-law Mike Strange.
Wanda’s life will be celebrated with a visitation on Monday, March 18, 2019, from 3 to 8 pm, with family meeting friends from 6 to 8 pm at Printy Funeral Home in Hamilton, Illinois.
