Janice Moore Obituary

'How old would you be if you didn't know how old you was?' -Satchel Paige

Janice Louise Moore was born August 15, the first-born child to Faye and Frank Moore in Keokuk, Iowa. Little did she know the next 4 generations would include 4 first born daughters. Janice was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Marla Faye Walton.

Twenty-three years ago, Janice married her forever love, Larry Moore. They found it humorous that they both had the same given last name. It was meant to be! Together they traveled, met with many friends, boated and enjoyed each other's company tremendously. And they laughed. They laughed a lot. Together they made memories in Keokuk, Quincy, IL and later Iowa City to be closer to their daughter, Cindy.

In Janice's early years she was a kick ass secretary, played lots of bridge, raised her 3 children. Janice was always ready for some good music and dancing to the wee hours like the Night Owl she was. Her entire life she was spunky, sassy and went after what she wanted. And she laughed. Oh, her laughter. Her laughter is unique. Her laughter was contagious. Her laughter... I'll miss that the most.

Janice's last 5 years were 'the happiest I've ever been!'- direct quote 3 days prior to her passing. Before she passed unexpectedly, while residing at Brown Deer Place in Iowa City, she spoke of her growth, the love of the staff and how she enjoyed their stories and their loving company. A big thank you from our family!

This tiny little lady was always busy. Her days consisted of reading, crocheting for family and her loves where she lived and running Bingo games for others. She loved baking cookies, babies, eating lemon desserts and decorating her Holiday Tree outside her door. Other loves include shoes, babies again, crazy wild yoga pants and funky jewelry to compliment her spikey hair. Her favorite place to be was on her couch crocheting with, Keelie, her pup next to her while Larry was close by watching TV. Her Happy Place.

Janice is survived by her husband, Larry Moore, the love of her life. Her living children include daughter Cindy Taylor Wilson (Iowa City) son Kerry Taylor (Gulf Shores, AL) son Matthew Moore (Michigan) son Brad Moore (Michigan) and daughter Monica William (Moore) (Michigan). Janice has 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2+1 on the way great great grandchildren.
