Evan Printy
Licensed Funeral Director/Owner
Evan Printy is a second-generation funeral director and co-owner of Printy Funeral Homes. Since he was young, Evan knew he wanted to join the family business and serve his community in the same way his father did. Graduating from Carl Sandburg College with a degree in Mortuary Science in 2013, Evan is the managing owner of the Keokuk and Warsaw locations and assists at all four of the funeral homes. As a strong believer in community involvement, Evan is a member of the Keokuk Rotary Club, the Keokuk Lions Club, the Elks Lodge #106, Sons of the American Legion Post #41 and the Keokuk XII. He attends Cornerstone Christian Church in Keokuk and serves on the governing boards of the Hoener YMCA and Main Street Keokuk. Evan lives in Keokuk with his wife Jaye, two daughters Ellie and Nora, and his son Teddy. He enjoys spending his free time with his family, playing pickleball, golfing, riding his motorcycle and attending community events.

Mark is a lifelong resident of Carthage. He spent four years in the US Army, then worked for the Illinois Department of Corrections for twenty-eight years, retiring in 2016. An active member of the community, Mark is a deacon at First Baptist Church, a member of McNamara’s Band, and a member of the Keokuk Airport Commission for over thirty years. Mark has formerly served on the school and YMCA boards. In his free time, Mark enjoys traveling to visit his three daughters: Schuyler, Keegan, and Madison, spending time with his three grandchildren, and piloting private aircraft. Mark is our part-time funeral assistant in Keokuk, where he serves his hometown community.

Bob is a licensed funeral director for Printy Funeral Homes. Bob helps with many funerals and visitations and assists with many other details at the funeral home.
Bob Kraus, with his wife Susie, became the third generation of the family to own Greaves Mortuary. They operated the business from 1972 until their retirement in 2011. Bob and Susie are enjoying retirement and spending lots of time traveling to see children and grandchildren. Bob plays golf whenever he gets a chance.

Dirk DeJong
Funeral Director
Dirk is the son of G. William and Dorothy DeJong, who bought the Pearson Funeral Home in 1944 and established DeJong’s Funeral Home. From the time of his birth, he lived in the funeral home building with his family. He helped with the work at the funeral home in many ways. He helped set up tents, carry and drive flowers, answer telephone calls, and whatever else he was asked to do. He graduated from Keokuk High School in 1967 and from SCC. Following his marriage to Theresa Neff in 1972, he attended Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science. Following his graduation, he served an internship at Westover Funeral Home in Des Moines, Iowa. In 1975, he and Theresa returned to Keokuk to join the family firm. He again worked along-side his father and learned to appreciate “Bill’s” knowledge and experience. Following Bill’s death in 1993, Dirk assumed the leadership roll and purchased the business from his mother and sisters.
Dirk is licensed as a Funeral Director and Embalmer in Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri and attends annual continuing education classes to stay current in his knowledge and skills. He is also licensed as a Preneed Sales Agent and can contract for preneed trusts and help families deal with existing insurance policies.
He is active in the community. He has served in leadership positions and on the boards of several organizations. He is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge and Shrine, Sons of the American Legion, Keokuk Lions Club, Rotary, Elks Lodge, and has been active in other organizations through the years. He also belongs to National, Iowa and Tri-State Funeral Directors Associations.
Family has influenced him deeply and his four daughters and their families are extremely important to him.
His interests include bicycling, golf, gardening, stained glass, and woodworking.

Theresa “Terry” DeJong
Funeral Director
Born in Hancock County, Illinois, Terry moved with her parents, Estel and Cecel Neff, to Keokuk in 1958. She attended Keokuk Public Schools, graduating in 1969. She attended SCC and the University of Iowa. Terry married Dirk DeJong in 1972 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Keokuk. She moved with him to Dallas, Texas, then to Des Moines, and back to Keokuk. Terry was a stay-at-home mother with their four daughters until 1983. She then began helping and doing part-time work at the funeral home.
Becoming more and more active and interested in the work, she attended both SCC and Carl Sandburg College and received her degree in Mortuary Science in 1997. She became licensed as a Funeral Director and Embalmer in Iowa and Illinois in 1998. She is also licensed as a Preneed Sales Agent and can contract for preneed trusts and help families deal with existing insurance policies. She attended training and became a Certified Funeral Celebrant in 2009. She enjoys helping plan and leading the celebrations of life and remembrance services held at either of their Celebration of Life Centers or at other places selected by families. She is interested in the varied music selected and used in religious and secular services to express the personality of each person remembered and their families.
She is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, P.E.O. International Sisterhood, Keokuk Area Hospital Auxiliary, National, Iowa and Tri-State Funeral Directors Associations, and is a trained Hospice Volunteer. Family is the center of her life, working side-by-side with Dirk, keeping track of four daughters and sons-in-law, four young grandchildren, and an adopted shelter dog, Tupelo.
Her interests include gardening, sewing, crocheting, and stained glass.
Theresa “Terry” DeJong
